Animal Farm Adventure
An introductory activity to George Orwell's Animal Farm

You are an animal on Animal Farm!

The animals have rebelled against their human leaders, and have set up their own government.

Every animal must follow seven core commandments:
Please take care to remember them so that life on Animal Farm can be as great as possible!
  1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.

  2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.

  3. No animal shall wear clothes.

  4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.

  5. No animal shall drink alcohol.

  6. No animal shall kill any other animal.

  7. All animals are equal.

Now that we animals govern ourselves, we have more rights. Hens will no longer have to sell their eggs to greedy humans. Cows don't have to give up milk that could go to their children. Cows and horses won't have to give up their calves. Trade with the humans is made illegal, and animals should not make use of money.

Let us walk you through the government:
Animal Farm is a haven for democracy. The pigs, the smartest animals, suggest laws and make most of the decisions. The other animals vote on whether the laws should pass.
