You go to open the large window in your bedroom. You carefully step out onto the ledge of your apartment building. You're fortunate enough to have a fire escape at your place, and you use it to full advantage, running down to the ground floor quickly.
Outside isn't much better, however. The streets are chaos...fires, panicking people looting and running away from various monstrosities. A couple of them resembled heaps of leathery flesh with teeth and tentacles, others resembled fish people or amphibious creatures. As if all this weren't enough, the dead were starting to rise...
