Deciding to take a
much safer path, you lock all of the doors and windows; seal all of your curtains; and barricade yourself in your room with food, water and a few knives. As if knives would protect you from the moon and hundreds of digital pleas. Messages, emails and phone calls continue to pour in, not a single one from your contacts.
You decide to turn on the news in hopes of finding something normal about the world. A theft, some scientist making a shocking discovery, hel, a first-degree murder would confirm nothing in the world has changed. Trying to ignore the messages popping up at the top of your phone screen, you tune into a live news report. The reporter looks straight at the camera with cold eyes.
"Hello. I know you are watching this. Why ignore the advice of millions? Take a little peek. The moon really is quite wondrous."
With jolt of fear, you throw your phone across the room, shattering the screen. You begin shaking just as much as your phone and grip your blankets until your knuckles turn white. Who knew the sound of feet climbing up the stairs could terrify one so much?
